How to change your bio in Bumble

Posted on

Bumble isn’t just another dating app; he is more thoughtful and considerate. The majority of its users are women in their late twenties and early thirties. They are smart women, who aren’t just there for a quick chat or easy dates.

That’s why having a smart, witty, or funny biography is essential. Read on and find out how to edit your biography in Bumble, add more personal information to your bio, and make your profile stand out in the crowd. Here’s how to edit your bio, plus some additional tips.

How to change your biography

Your Bumble bio page is on your profile. Here’s how to find and edit it:

  1. Log in to Bumble using your preferred login method.
  2. Click Edit Profile.
  3. Next, tap the About Me field.
  4. Create a witty and exciting biography and type (or paste) it into this field. Note that you have up to 300 characters to describe yourself. That should be more than enough.
  5. Press save and your biography will change.

Further in the article, you can read some useful tips for a witty biography. But for now, here’s how to edit your profile.

my work and my education

Just below your About Me page, you will find the My work and education section. Select it, then update your employment and education information. Tap the field under Your Job and enter your title and company. Next, tap the field under Your Education and add your educational institution and year of graduation.

Additional profile customization

Bumble lets you create a very detailed profile page. Why stop with a biography, when you can personalize your basic information even more. This section is located just below My work and education on your profile.

basic information

This section covers a lot of your personal preferences. Feel free to update as many parts, but you don’t have to change them all. When you first enter your basic profile information selection, Bumble will ask you a series of questions that you can answer.

Our advice is to give honest answers or skip answers. Your dating preferences, education level, and attitude toward alcohol and tobacco are probably more important than your political views, zodiac sign, and height.

Finally, adding your current location is very important, but you don’t necessarily need to include your country and city of birth. In the Linked Accounts menu at the bottom, you can add your Spotify and Instagram profiles, if you wish.

Verify your account and use profile prompts

When you’re done adding your basic information, it’s a good idea to verify your Bumble account. This option is also on the Edit Profile page, just below your profile pictures. Click on it and follow the on-screen instructions to confirm that yours is a genuine profile. This will add more credibility to your profile and show more confidence, which is highly valued on all dating sites.

You can also consider writing profile prompts. These prompts can serve as an extension to your bio and help other users who want to start a conversation with you. Follow the steps:

  1. Log in to your Bumble account.
  2. Click Edit Profile.
  3. Select My Profile Prompts.
  4. Click Add your first profile prompt and choose one of many predefined prompts.
  5. Respond briefly to the prompt, such as what would be your perfect Sunday.
  6. Add two more profile prompts (you can only have three at a time).

Be yourself

Our last piece of advice on this subject will be to be yourself. People like honesty, and if your profile is unique, it will attract more attention. Don’t go looking for corny quotes and picking up lines, like millions have already done.

Of course, it won’t hurt to upload your best photo to your profile. Adding several interesting images is also not a bad idea. If you do most of the things covered in this article, your Bumble game should be on point. Expect more matches soon and let us know how they went in the comments section below.
