Having trouble finding the temperature filter on Snapchat? Have you ever wondered why there are so many videos and articles online about this feature? Ultimately, it’s because the temperature filter has now become a sticker. It’s true. Moved temperature and battery filters to sticker bank. The change happened because Snapchat users wanted to be able to move around and resize their temperature and battery charts.
If this is something you’d like to do yourself, don’t worry. We have what you need. Read on to learn how to get the temperature filter on Snapchat.
Create an image and add a sticker
To create an image or add a sticker, follow the steps below:
- Open your Snapchat app using the yellow icon and sign in, if you haven’t already.
- Take your photo using the capture button, or record a video if you wish.
- Tap the sticker icon on the right.
- When you access the sticker feature, you will see a star icon. You need to tap on it to find the temperature sticker. The function uses the ambient temperature recorded by your phone. If your phone can’t register the ambient temperature, one of two things is happening. Either the temperature filter and the sticker are completely missing, or you can adjust the temperature sticker to say whatever you want.
- Tap the star icon and look for the temperature sticker – it’s the one with a number, then the degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius symbol next to it.
And that’s all. Ended!
Find the temperature sticker
Scroll through the stickers to find the number with the degree symbol next to it. If you can’t find it, your phone may not support temperature adjustment on Snapchat. The beta version of Snapchat on Android does not have a temperature sticker. If you are using the beta version, go to the Google Play Store, search for the Snapchat app and turn off the beta test.
Your phone has its own set of sensors, gyro, altitude, and speed. However, temperature is not always something your hardware can detect. The information you see may be collected from online data sources. After all, if it was just your phone measuring the temperature, then wouldn’t it be warmed by the warmth of your hand?
You can move the temperature around
Temperature is just another sticker, so you can move it around the screen and manipulate it the same way you can with other stickers. For example, you can pinch your fingers on the sticker to make it shrink and move your fingers outward to make it grow. When you’re done, tap the blue arrow icon in the bottom right. Select the people you want to send your image to, then confirm again to send.
Does Snapchat have a usability problem?
Have you read up to this point? If so, doesn’t that almost prove that Snapchat has a usability problem? Give the app to a newbie, even a newbie used to using Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, and they’ll have a hard time understanding the interface and how things work.
The same goes for the tips listed in this article. After all, if temperature and battery graphs were so easy to find, why do people have to search online to find them? This isn’t a user review per se, it’s a review of Snapchat’s interface and how much more intuitive it could be.
How often do you use the temperature function?
The temperature filter is moved to the sticker section, and suddenly a bunch of online articles appear explaining where to find the sticker. But, is the temperature function really that popular?
There are many smartphones without any temperature measurement function, but they are able to tell you what temperature it is. They do this through licensing agreements with NYSE: SNAP. The fact that Snapchat is willing to pay millions for this service means the temperature feature must be important.
