The new Disney sensation is all over Instagram!

After the “All I Want for Christmas Is You” filter launched us right into the holiday season, your inner child can now enjoy a whole new obsession on this social platform. A filter that can tell you which Disney character you are!

If you want to know if you’re a princess, a hero or a villain, keep reading this article to learn all about this awesome new filter.

Where to find the Disney filter?

There are two ways to access the filter.

1. Based on a friend’s story

You’re casually browsing through your friends’ stories and suddenly see that amazing Disney filter you want to try right away. You can do this directly from that person’s story:

  1. Tap the filter name – it’s right under your friend’s Instagram name.
  2. You will see four options at the bottom of your screen.
  3. Press the first: try it.
  4. You’ll be taken to your Instagram camera – make sure it’s set to the front one.
  5. Wait for the filter to recognize a face – a sticker will appear above your head.

  4. See story highlights and tap on the one named WHAT DISNEY?
  5. Tap the filter name at the top of the screen, then proceed to steps 3-7 described earlier.

Note that once you’ve tried the Disney filter, you can access it again from your camera.

  1. Launch Instagram on your phone.
  2. Tap the camera icon in the top left corner of your homepage.
  3. You will see different icons on both sides of the button you use to take photos.
  4. The Disney filter and any other filters you have downloaded and tried are saved on the left side of the button.

I can’t find the filter, what should I do?

If you can’t find it, go to the App Store or Google Play Store and check for updates. You may need to update Instagram to access this filter.

If you tap the name of your friend’s story Disney filter, you won’t be able to tap the Try it icon unless you update the app.

You will also see a notification that Instagram needs to be updated before you can try the filter.

Can I change the character I got first?

Unlike popular Facebook quizzes that test your personality and assign you a Disney lookalike based on your answers, this filter appears to be completely random. It’s not based on your looks, or your personality traits. You may have your favorite character, but you might end up with a villain you hate.

If you are not happy with the character assigned to you when you first try this filter, you can repeat it several times until you get one that you would like to share with your followers.

How can I remove this filter?

You can delete this filter if you no longer want to use it. It is very simple:

  1. Tap the camera icon in the top left corner of your Instagram homepage.
  2. Swipe the filters at the bottom of the screen to find the Disney filter.
  3. Tap the What Disney filter name under the filter collection.
  4. Tap the first icon that now says Saved to remove the filter.
  5. When the filter is removed, the icon says Save Effect.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, which Disney are you all?

Hardly anyone stayed safe from this cute filter.

Celebrities couldn’t resist either, especially those who voiced some of our favorite characters. Did you know Instagram doesn’t think Josh Gad is actually Olaf from Frozen? Check out his official Instagram account to see which character this effect has assigned to him.
